Co-operate with Chief Executive - Awutus told

Awutu Beraku (C/R), May 4, GNA- The Omankrado of the Awutu Traditional Area, Nai Kwao Kurabi Clottey the III, has advised Awutu and Senya citizens in and outside the country to lend their maximum support and co-operation to the recently-confirmed District Chief Executive for the area to ensure speedy development of the district.

He said that the nomination and subsequent confirmation of the new District Chief Executive by the district assembly members showed the level of commitment and preparedness the people were towards the realization of the socio-economic and cultural goals of Awutu and the Senya Beraku Traditional areas which constitute the Awutu/Senya administrative area.

Addressing a group of farmers, fishermen, petty traders and workers at Awutu as part of the activities that marked this year's international workers day celebrations, Nai Kwao Kurabi Clottey told the people in the two Traditional Areas that this the time they should sink all their political, religious and other differences in the interest of collective and effective development of their communities. He said the district was calling for the improvement of educational standards, better roads, particularly the Awutu-Beraku-Obrachire road which has been on the drawing board for many years, and environmental sanitation.

Nai Kwao-Kurabi Clottey maintained that it was for this reason that citizens in the two Traditional Areas and their chiefs should come together and mobilize all manpower and material resources to back the new District Chief Executive for raid socio-economic advancement. He appealed to Heads of the various Government Departments, Corporations, Agencies and other establishments currently working in the district to feel free at all times to consult the Traditional Councils of the two communities for fatherly advice and guidelines to help propel the engine of growth of the district.

In a related development, David Nana Larbie, the Member of Parliament for Awutu/Senya, charged workers, farmers and fishermen if the district to focus more on hard work to promote productivity at all levels of national endeavours.

Nana Larbie expressed his gratitude to members of the Awutu/Senya District Assembly for the mature and orderly manner in which they confirmed President John Evans Atta-Mills nominee for the position of District Chief Executive and expressed the hope that they would equally work hard to make his administration a big success, The MP pledged to offer his best to ensure that the District Assembly and other key stakeholders in the district lived up to expectation for the general good of the area. 04 May 09
