Residents of Apenkwa and Ada in the New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region have been disconnected from other communities following the collapse of bridges linking the communities.

The bridges caved in during a torrential rainfall last week making it dangerous for vehicles to ply and cross to Auntie -Aba stretch of the road.

The collapsed bridge has equally become risky for pedestrians particular women and children who cross on daily basis.

Drivers have been compelled to use alternate long winding deplorable route to the discomfort of passengers.

Others who cannot afford the high cost of vehicular fares following the development cross with their luggage by foot at the peril of their lives.

An opinion leader in Apenkwa community, Kofi Ahunu tells Kasapa News, the collapse of the bridge is affecting residents in the area hence calling on the New Juaben Municipal Assembly and Government to reconstruct the bridge.

Some Residents in the community also shared their frustration over the incident saying that since the collapse of the bridges , no government official has visited the affected areas to inspect despite several calls
