Commonwealth University confers doctorate degree on Dr Gyamfi-Osew

The Commonwealth University, has conferred an honorary doctorate, on Dr George Eric Gyamfi-Osew, the current Director of Operations at National Lottery Authority (NLA).

A citation accompanying the award of a Doctor in Public Administration (DPA) said Dr Gyamfi-Osew diligence and perseverance demonstrated in continuous education, which has taken him to several institutions of learning both in Ghana and abroad.

The citation said his exemplary leadership demonstrated in the management and administration of public organisations where he had served.

It said Dr Gyamfi-Osew ethical conduct showed in his dealings in places where he served as well as his private life.

The citation applauded Dr Gyamfi-Osew for the humanitarian services demonstrated in the activities he has carried out involving the training of children to enable them realise their potentials and his eloquent application of the marketing philosophy in the running of business in all organisations where he has served Profile.

Dr Gyamfi-Osew is a chartered Marketer and holds a Graduate Diploma in international Marketing from the London School of International Business; Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from London Guildhall University; and an MBA from London South Bank University.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and Institute of Loan and Risk Management, Ghana.

He is also a chartered member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK.

Dr Gyamfi-Osew, is also a Management Consultant and currently the Director of Operations at the National Lottery Authority and was a pioneer Marketing and Sales Director of NLA from (2003-2011) and Director Special Projects from (2011-2012).

He is the immediate past Vice President of Manet International Corporation, a Real Estate Developers.

Prior to joining the NLA, Dr Gyamfi-Osew was the Managing Partner of George and Associates, a Business Strategy Consulting firm in Ghana.

He has several years’ experience within the Service Management environment with British Telecommunications (BT) PLC where he worked as a Global Finance Service Executive.

Before joining BT, he was a Group Manager with Chapel Ash Securities Limited a Financial Services Company and has a number of reports on Service and Marketing Management, including, How has Marketing Changed and Marketing Then & Now (Corporate Governance & Public Relations Perspective).

“The others are Effective Custom Service Management; the critical Success Factors, with Special Recommendation to BT, An Environmental Audit/Competitive Action Plan for London City Airport and British Telecommunications Plc Investing in Ghana; a Feasibility Study.

Dr Gyamfi-Osew has served as a Member of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana, Member of the Marketing/Adversity/Sponsorship Sub-Committee, CAN 2008 Local Olympic Committee, and Adjunct faculty member of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

He is the life Patron of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Students Association, Ghana and in January, 2010, he was inducted into the international Who is Who Historical Society of Professionals.

Dr Gyamfi-Osew is the current President/Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, and Ghana Branch.

He is dedicated to coaching and mentoring the youth.
