Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), March 25, GNA- Mr. Joseph Levis Tenyo, Dormaa District Manager of the Ghana Water Company has warned communities around the Bia River to desist from polluting it with chemicals. The chemicals are hazardous and can cause deaths among the people, he told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Dormaa Ahenkro during the celebration of the World Water Day.

He complained that frequent power outages in the area affected the operation of the Biaso headworks, the source of drinking water in the Dormaa District and the Company found it very difficult to meet the high cost of fuel.

The District Manager advised consumers to pay their water bills promptly to enable the Company to render quality services. He appealed to communities around the river not to fish in the two dams as such activities could affect the supply of water.
