The bridge collapsed about six months ago when it could not withstan d the weight of an articulator truck that the Catholic Church hired to carr y over six hundred bags of cement to work on some school projects in the ar ea. The people said with the collapse of the bridge they could not trade

with neighbouring villages and Tamale on which they depend on for salt an d other commodities. They said this when Mr. Issifu Salisu Be-awuribe, the District Chie f Executive of Central Gonja, inspected the broken down bridge and to reass ure them that government was in the process of working on it. Mr. Zakaria Yussif, an opinion leader of the Kpinjipe community, sa id if the bridge was not rehabilitated before the rains set in students attending secondary schools in the district capitals might not be able to go to school because vehicles cannot cross the bridge to pick them.
