The chiefs and people of Tikobo Number Two, a cocoa growing area in the Western Region have expressed their gratitude to government for the rehabilitation of the road through the town.

They however appealed for the extension of the programme to cover the entire stretch of the 13-kilometre road from Tikobo Number Two Junction to Bentenlebo.

So far, eight kilometres of the road has been rehabilitated from Tikobo Number Two Junction to the Junction of Damufo leaving the portion from Damufo to Bentenlebo which often becomes unmotorable during the rainy season.

Mr Daniel B. Ndede, Assemblyman for the area who made the appeal in an interview, said the contractor on the project claimed only eight kilometres of the road was awarded to him by the Regional Feeder Roads, and that the culverts at Eselebo, Kpokepi, Grand and Fia were left out.

He said these communities have to fill the bad portions of the road with logs to make it accessible and appealed for the construction of culverts to forestall the difficulties the farmers face in carting their produce to marketing centres.

He also appealed for the reconstruction of culverts for the low portions of the road leading to the town so as to curb the floods of the area.
