Company re-plants 10,000 hectares of degraded forest reserves

Akomadan (Ash), Jan 18, GNA - FORM-Ghana, a forest plantation company, has received thumbs-up from the government for its effort at re-planting the degraded Asubima and Afrensu-Brohuma forest reserves.

It has already planted 2,190 hectares of teak and 376 hectares of indigenous species. The target is to re-forest 10,000 hectares of the destroyed reserves.

Mr Henry Ford Kamel, Deputy Minister of Lands and Forestry, made these known when he together with the Netherlands Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Gerard Duijfjes, inspected the company's plantation and nursery at Akomadan in the Offinso North District.
