Ejisu (Ash), Nov. 6, GNA - A contractor has appealed to Ghanaians to adopt a more favourable disposition towards tax payment to enable the country to generate adequate revenue internally to support its development agenda.

Mr James Kofi Achampong, Chairman of the United Sand and Stone Contractors Association, said tax payment was an important civic responsibility that all must commit themselves to.

He was addressing members of the Association after his election for a four-year term at Ejisu on Wednesday.

Mr Achampong said his administration would ensure that members of the Association honoured their income tax obligations and other rates to the District Assembly.

He said equal attention would also be paid to the protection of the environment by seeing to it that sand and stone winning activities conformed to safety standards.
