Nkawie (Ash), Sept 27, GNA - The Atwima District magistrate's court at Nkawie on Thursday remanded two sisters for pouring hot soup on one Dominic Asamoah, a carpenter.

Amma Agyemang, 30, a farmer and Afua Sarpong, 57, a chop barkeeper, all of Atwima-Koforidua, pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on September 30.

Police Detective Inspector P.K. Nyanueke told the court that on September 4, this year, Amma Agyemang saw the carpenter in the company of some friends and advised the friends not to move with Asamoah again. He said Asamoah therefore enquired from the accused her reason for warning his friend not to move with him again but she became offended and hit Asamoah with a club.

Inspector Nyanueke said Afua Sarpong then joined her sister in the scuffle that ensued and in the process poured the hot soup she was preparing on Asamoah.

He said Asamoah who was seriously scalded, was rushed to hospital and the two sisters were arrested.
