Cape Coast Aug. 3 GNA - The Central Regional Minister, Mr Isaac Edumadze on Wednesday called on members of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA) currently in the country, to endeavour to encourage their respective countries to invest in the Region. He said the Region was looking forward for business interests in the development of its beaches, agriculture and salt mining, which could be exploited for mutual benefits.
Mr Edumadze made the call when he hosted members of the CMJA at a luncheon at his residency in Cape Coast.
The Judges and Magistrates are in the country for a five-day meeting on the theme: "Judicial Reform Within Commonwealth - Impact, Driving Force and the Future", being organised by the Association of Magistrates and Judges of Ghana and the CMJA in collaboration with the Judicial Service of Ghana.
Mr Edumadze urged them to redirect their expertise and skills to assist in the developmental agenda of the Region and the nation as a whole and pledged Government's cooperation and support.
The President of the CMJA, the Right Honourable Lord David Hoper of Craighead, Scotland, thanked the Regional Minister for hosting them. The Judges and Magistrates, who had earlier attended a durbar of chiefs held in their honour at Elmina, also visited the Cape Coast Castle.
