DCE appeals for support from his people for good administration

Nkoranza (B/A), Oct. 4, GNA - Mr James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, Nkoranza District Chief Executive at the weekend appealed to people in the district to support, encourage and pray for him to serve to their expectation.

He requested fellow members of Saint Martin's De Pores Catholic Church at Nkoranza to join him in thanking God for His love, care and blessings to him and his family and prayed for God to guide him in administering the district.

The DCE was speaking at a special thanksgiving service at the Church on his elevation to a District Chief Executive. The service was attended by a large number of people including relatives, friends, Municipal and District Chief Executives, NPP functionaries and Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom 1V, Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area and President of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs was also present.

Others were, Mr Kwame Twumasi Awuah, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Prince Yaw Donyina, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs Farizana Bintu Ibrahim, Wenchi DCE, Dr Kofi Amoako Gyampah, Nkoranza North Constituency NDC Chairman, Mr Yaw Adu Abdulai, Nkoranza North NPP Chairman and other MPs.

The Reverend Father Peter Fosu-Ahenkan, Parish Priest in-charge of the Church, who preached, urged public officials and people in authority to show love and respect for their subordinates to win their confidence and support for successful administration.

He deplored the negative attitude of some heads of department, who disregarded their subordinates and asked such officers to change their attitudes.

Rev. Fosu-Ahenkan asked the public not to use positions to look down upon their fellows and shun their company "as we are all God's creation".

The Parish Priest stressed the need for all leaders to have fellow feeling for other people, who visit them to accommodate them, as well as respect their views, so that whenever people enter their offices, they would also move out with smiling faces and such people would carry their good names to far places by this, they would command respect from the public.

Rev. Fosu-Ahenkan called on Ghanaians not to be divided by partisan politics but rather be united to promote love, unity, peace and understanding amongst themselves to maintain the peace and stability in the country.

He asked Christians to let their social lives reflect the teachings they received in churches and to shun social vices and negative practices that could cast a slur on them as individuals. Rev. Fr. Fosu-Ahenkan led the congregation to offer special prayers for President John Agyekum Kufuor and members of government, traditional rulers and religious leaders, so they would become God-fearing and serve the country selflessly.
