DCE calls on people to appreciate Government efforts

Brahoho (B/A) Feb. 11 GNA- Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Nkoranza District Chief Executive, has called on the people to appreciate the efforts of the government by initiating development programmes and vote the New Patriotic Party back to power.

Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi was addressing the people of Brahoho at a fund raising rally in support of on-going projects in the area. The Chief Executive deplored the negative practice by some youth to quarrel or fight over political issues and cautioned the people to avoid violence during the forth-coming electioneering campaigns.

"All of us cannot belong to one party and that does not mean that political opponents are enemies.

"Ghana is older than all the political parties and before the formation of the parties we lived as one people", he cautioned. The DCE advised the people not to be divided by party politics, as that would have a great effect on the development of the district. He urged eligible voters in the district to register their names in the voters' register when it is re-opened in March to be able to exercise their franchise during the December general election. Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi cautioned the people on the handling of naked fire to avoid setting bushfires to destroy farms and other properties. He advised farmers to engage the services of fire volunteers in burning their new farmlands to ensure that the fires did not spread to other farms.

Mr. Baafi Kodom, Assembly Member commended the people for their unity and cooperation towards the development of the area and the district assembly for initiating health, education and water projects to enhance the development of the community.

Nana Sarpong Kumankuma, Odikro of the area, advised the youth to be disciplined and to lead morally upright lives to win the respect of the people.
