Dunkwa-On-Offin (C/R), Sept 21, GNA - Mr Richard Anane Adabor, Upper Denkyira District Chief Executive, has entreated the electorate to refrain from acts that could lead to the breach of peace in the area during the September 26 Assembly level elections.
Addressing the out-going assembly in its last meeting at Dunkwa-On-Offin, Mr Adabor said it was important for all to contribute to the success of the vote in the various communities in the district.
The DCE stressed that any behaviour that would impact negatively on the conduct of the elections should be avoided. He advised all registered voters to exercise their franchise on the day of voting to make the election a success.
On the development of the district, Mr Adabor said the assembly remained one of the deprived in the country due to the lack of resources needed to develop the infrastructure base, resulting in the aspirations of the people not being adequately.
"Nonetheless, the assembly has over the years managed with the extremely limited resources to provide some basic amenities," he added. The DCE recognised the 93harmonious relationship, unity of purpose and the deep understanding=94 displayed by the assembly members, saying these attributes contributed to the realisation of the developmental goals of the assembly.
He expressed satisfaction with the way development projects were equitably distributed, saying, it had helped to improve the quality of life of the people in the district.
Mr Adabor was hopeful that some of the assembly members who were seeking re-election would come back to continue the task ahead of improving the infrastructure development of the district.
