Assin Nsuaem-Kyekyewre (C/R), June 29, GNA - The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin South District of the Central Region, Madam Millicent Alice Kurankye has commended the traditional authorities in the area for their "tireless efforts" at fighting for the development of the area over the years and urged them to keep it up.

Mad. Kurankye said, she was aware of the roles Members Parliament, Assembly Members, Traditional Rulers and representative of political parties play in the development of the area and therefore called for a united front from all stakeholders to ensure rapid and speedy development of the district.

Speaking in an interview with the GNA, Mad. Kurankye called on the traditional rulers to come out with their problems and priorities areas, for the various working committees of the Assembly to attend to them. She was hopeful that as custodians of the land, they would team up with unit committees and area councils to give the needed publicity and education to their subjects on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to ensure a complete medical care for all in the district. The DCE called for an "open door administration", adding that, she would periodically put in place "opinion-stakeholders forum" to facilitate development and urged the citizenry to join hands to move the district forward.
