The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadzato South District, Mrs Angela Oforiwah Alorwu-Tay has commended the Minister for Education, Professor Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang for directing examination candidates to stay away from school during exams.
The DCE said that the directives will give the students who will be writing examination a conducive atmosphere under which they could write the examination.
She made the commendation when she led a team to inspect preparations for the exams which begins on Tuesday 9th April 2013, in the district.
Mrs Alorwu-Tay was accompanied on the inspection by officials from the District Directorate of Education and the District Assembly.
Schools visited by the DCE and her entourage were Lekelebi Senior High School, Ze SHS, Jim Bourtom Memorial Agric School, Have Technical SHS and Agate SHS.
She expressed satisfaction with the arrangement made by the school authorities and commended them for a good work done.
Mrs Alorwu-Tay addressing the students at separate gatherings appealed to them to take the examination seriously and urged them not to get frightened, but regard it as the usual class text.
The DCE reminded them that their future depended on their performance at the WASSCE. “Your performance in the examination will open the doors for you to enter which university you want to attend”, she said.
Mrs Alorwu-Tay also appealed to them to refrain from activities which would result in the cancellation of their examination papers.
