Aboabogya (Ash), Aug 19, GNA- Alhaji Kwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive on Tuesday inaugurated a 300 million-cedi semi-detached nurses quarters at Aboabogya in Ashanti. The construction of the quarters was started in 1998 by the district assembly.

Inaugurating it, Alhaji Yeboah said the total development of any nation depended on the health of the people that was why the assembly placed great importance on health.

He said the Assembly would complete the remaining quarters to attract more health personnel to the centre. He expressed satisfaction with the interest the people had registered with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and asked those who have not yet joined it to do so.

Mrs Leticia Diabene, Kwabre District Director of Health Services in response to the call by the community for a medical assistant, said the Ghana Health Service (GHS) posts personnel to health centres and clinics which were well patronised by the people. She therefore, asked communities where there were health centres and clinics to patronise them well and maintain them properly for them to be considered.

Mrs Diabene commended the District Assembly for completing the project and asked the community to help maintain it. Mr Kwadwo Yankyira, Assemblyman for Aboabogya, said people in the area were constructing a bungalow for a medical assistant who would be posted to the centre and that they had already spent about 150 million cedis on the project.
