DCE pays working visit to communities

Twifo Praso (C/R), Aug. 28, GNA - The Twifo-Heman-Lower-Denkyira District Assembly would honour communities in the district, which excel in implementing self-help projects.

Mr. Yaw Agyeibi-Kessie, the District Chief Executive, said this on Friday when he paid a working visit to a number of communities to explain government policies and acquaint himself with problems affecting the communities.

Topics treated were the National Health Insurance Scheme, Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE), the mass cocoa spraying exercise, the government programme on President's Special Initiatives (PSIs) and government directives on petroleum sector. Among the communities visited were Nuamakrom, Asare Kweku, Akweikrom, Bimponso, Asamoakrom, Baako Ndindi, Asensuho shed and Aklomaim.

Speaking at one of the fora at Nuamakrom, Mr Agyeibi-Kessie said government cannot provide all the basic amenities and appealed to the communities to supplement the government efforts. He appealed to them to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them enjoy quality health care. The DCE advised them to pay their basic rates promptly to enable the assembly to provide them with their basic needs. 28 Aug. 05
