Awutu Bawjiase (C/R), Sept. 9, GNA - The District Chief Executive for the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District (AESD) Mr Solomon Kwashie Abam-Quaye, has appealed to the people in the district to assist the assembly to build up beautiful and well-planed communities in the district.
He said the haphazard and unplanned manner in which some people were putting up structures in most communities in the district was against the aims and objectives of the assembly to establish well-planned communities.
Mr Abam-Quaye in this regard warned that this would not be allowed to continue.
Making the appeal at a meeting at Awutu Bawjiase, the District Chief Executive reiterated that the assembly would soon send out task force to embark on an exercise to demolish all unauthorized structures in the district.
Mr Abam-Quaye has therefore, urged the people to ensure that they obtained permit before putting up their buildings or structures to avoid embarrassment.
He expressed regret that most open places earmarked for public projects including schools, road and other social amenities in the communities have illegally been used to construct buildings.
According to the DCE, the putting up of such unauthorized structures have marred the beauty of most of the communities and have also made it impossible for free movement by vehicles to every part of the town. The DCE said the construction of buildings in the open spaces in the communities have compelled the inhabitants of the affected communities to block streets during funeral, a situation he described as very bad. Mr Abam-Quaye said investigations have revealed that most of these unauthorized structures not have toilet facilities.
The DCE therefore, urged landlords and landladies to include toilet facilities in the building plans before submitting them for approval by the assembly, adding that, building without a toilet, bathroom and kitchen would not be approved.
He appealed to the people to ensure environmental cleanliness to avoid outbreak of diseases in their communities.
