Mr. David Gyaki Danso, a royal of the third gate of the Dwan Traditional Council in Kwame Danso in the Sene West District of the Brong Ahafo Region has been enstooled as the Paramount Chief of the Dwan Traditional Area.

The colorful event brought together chiefs, Queen Mothers, CSOs, Religious leaders and kingmakers in the area. Mr. Gyaki Danso was enstooled as the Paramount chief of the Dwan Traditional Area with a stool name Nana Okofrobour Kwakye Danso Acheampong II.

The Dwan stool became vacant after the demise of Nana Afura II who was a candidate of gate two of the Dwan stool.

The Dwan Traditional Area has three gates which include Gate one from Dwankrom, Gate two from Banyarko and Gate three from Krenkuasi. Installation of a Paramount Chief in the Dwan traditional Area is done in rotational bases.

Dwan is such that when a chief dies from a gate, the “Abusuapanin” or the kingmakers of the gate inform the Queen Mother and she also goes to the “Abusuapanin” of the Dwan Stool to inform them, then in consultation of the Queen Mother and the “Abusuapanin” of the next gate who succeeds the late chief also consult the family members to choose a candidate for the gate, then in consultation of the family members and the “Abusuapanin” chose a candidate from the royal family.

The “Abusuapanin” of that gate then presents the candidate to the Queen Mother for installation of a Paramount Chief of the Area. The aforementioned qualified Nana Okofrobour Kwakye Danso Acheampong II known in his private life as Mr. David Gyaki Danso the Paramount Chief of Dwan Traditional Area.

Before Nana Okofrobour Kwakye Danso Acheampong II enstoolment as the Paramount Chief of the Area, he was taken through the seven days confinement procedure of Dwan Omanhene Customary Rites by the chief priest of the Dwan land with a title “Keyen Kphenkilen Bosomfour” the sole witness and custodian of the traditions of Dwan state.

Addressing the gathering, Nana Okofrobour Kwakye Danso Acheampong II, thanked the kingmakers of the Dwan Traditional Council for the confidence repose in him and pledged his outfits readiness to operate an open door policy.

He said he is a development oriented chief and that he will support any move by an NGO, individual and government geared towards bring development into the area. Nana Okofrobour Kwakye Danso Acheampong II said he will not be an armchair chief but will use his position to woo investors into the area. He called on his subjects, sons and daughters of the area who are in diaspora to help him fight their biggest enemy in the area which is poverty.

He cautioned his people against the practice of pull him or her down syndrome. This, Nana Okofrobour Kwakye Danso Acheampong II, noted, will go a long way to impact negatively on the development of the area. Speaker after speaker called for unity among the people in the area.
