Deputy Minister eyes Mfantsiman West constituency seat

Cape Coast, Sept 6, GNA- Mr Stephen Kwadwo Asamoah-Boateng, a Deputy Minister of Information, and one of the 32 aspiring parliamentary candidates for the NPP primaries, on Saturday said he will win the primaries and the parliamentary seat at Mfantsiman West in the next general elections.

Mr Asamoah-Boateng, said this after he has been vetted by the NPP national vetting committee at Cape Coast.

The committee is conducting the exercise to ensure that qualified and popular candidates are elected at the primaries.

The Deputy Minister described himself as "a better candidate" and was sure to win in the primaries as well as the parliamentary elections.

He said he has already begun some groundwork by initiating some development programmes, which include a 30 million cedis scholarship scheme, a pepper and sweet potato plantations to create more jobs for the youth in the area.

Meanwhile four District Chief Executives, Mr John Agyabeng, for Agona East, Ms Joyce Mildred Aidoo, for Gomoa West, Nana Ato Arthur, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem and Mr. Andrew Mensah, Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, are among the contestants.
