Koforidua, July 21, GNA - The Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Director, Mr S.A Manu, has advised District Assemblies to establish Sister-City relations with their counterparts in the country rather than those abroad to enable them share experience for accelerated growth. He said although forging relationships with cities abroad was good, sometimes there were vast differences in their experiences and that often, the Ghanaian counterpart does not benefit much from such arrangements when it comes to adaptation of experience from abroad. Mr Manu was speaking when members of a group of 14 assembly members and heads of department of Bawku Municipal assembly who were on a four-day study tour of the New Juaben Municipal Assembly, called at the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) on Thursday.

The Co-ordinating Director of the Bawku Municipal Assembly, Mr Samuel Nlary said the Bawku District Assembly was established about four years ago and that they embarked on the visit to interact with their colleagues at the New Juaben Municipal Assembly which had over 20 years experience as a Municipality to study some of its good practices for adoption.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Kwasi Adjei-Boateng called on the leadership of the Bawku Municipal Assembly to let their visit go beyond just a study tour to the establishment of working relationships so that the two Municipality could collaborate in some identified areas.
