Ho, Oct 6, GNA - The Ho District Assembly has prioritised Kente weaving, honey and fruit processing under the Rural Enterprise Development Project (REDP) of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and the President's Special Initiatives.
Mr. Mawutor Goh, the District Chief Executive, said this on Monday when he led a 12-member delegation from the assembly to pay homage to the new Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede, XIV at the forecourt of the palace.
He said feasibility studies had been completed for the take-off of the projects and appealed to the people of the district to embrace such ventures that are aimed at wealth creation.
Mr Goh said government and private partnership in small-scale industries would take the country from the present economic doldrums and "trigger us into a prosperous nation."
He said the assembly is keen on improving on the downward trend of education and called on the people of the traditional area to assist it to realise its noble goal.
Mr Goh pledged to collaborate with the Asogli Traditional Council to bring development to the doorsteps of the people.
Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu XII, Awafiaga of the Asogli State, on behalf of Togbe Afede gave the assurance that the Council and the assembly will co-exist to enable them to develop and raise the standard of living of their people.
