District Chief Executive inaugurates projects

The District Chief Executive for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Mr. William Atta-Mends, on Wednesday, inaugurated a number of projects executed under the Mills Administration.

They include a market each for the people of Moree and Abura-Dunkwa, a three-unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities in nine communities including Moree, Asebu-Ekrofor, Abakrampa , Day Care Centres at Abura Dunkwa, Brebia, Amosima and Moree and a 21-unit classroom block at Aburaman Senior High School (SHS).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Atta-Mends mentioned other projects that were near completion as; a semi-detached staff quarters at Abura Dunkwa, area council offices at Asebu and Ayeldu, and machine sheds at Tsetekasom, Korado, Bosomin and a 12-seater KVIP at Obokor.

Others are the construction of three-unit teachers’ quarters at Abenu, Amosima, Batanyaa, Akonoma, and Asebu, girls’ dormitory at Aburaman SHS, boys and girls dormitories as well as a 12 and six unit classroom blocks at Abakrampa SHS, and two separate boys and girls dormitories at Asuansi Technical School.

The extension of potable water to communities, including Oboka, Enyinabrim, Asebu Krofor, Akonoma and their environs as well as the Aburaman SHS are also on-going.

He said a six and three seater KVIPs were being constructed at Abaka and Moree respectively, whereas the Abura Dunkwa- Onsonyameye, Musunkwa-Fowekrom, Srafa-Asuani, and Asebu-Brimso roads are being reshaped.

He said the Afrangua to Abura Dunkwa roads have been awarded on contract at a cost of GH¢3.8 million and is expected to be completed within 12 months.

On education, he said the assembly was assisting the Education Directorate to address the falling standards of education in the district.

The construction of a landing beach is soon to commence at Moree to save fishermen from loses during bumper harvest.**
