Nyinahin (Ash), July 23, GNA- The Atwima District Security Committee (DISEC) has warned 'chieftaincy contractors' fomenting trouble in the Nyinahin chieftaincy matters to stop for peace to prevail in the area.

Mr Charles Yeboah, Atwima District Chief Executive and chairman of DISEC, who gave the warning, said though government will not interfere in chieftaincy matters, it would however, not allow chieftaincy disputes to disturb the peace and retard progress.

He gave the warning when he led members of DISEC to meet the kingmakers of Nyinahin on Tuesday.

The DCE advised the kingmakers to unite and choose the most acceptable candidate to occupy the stool. Mr Yeboah said any group of people or kingmakers whose activities would bring conflict in the town would be dealt with according to the law.

He made a humble appeal to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to take the matter up if the kingmakers adopted delay tactics in selecting a suitable candidate.

The DCE called for peace in the town to enable the government to complete the electrification and water projects in the area.
