District assembly gives award to Mando Secondary School

Ajumako (C/R), March 28, GNA - The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly on Saturday honoured Mando Secondary Technical School for academic excellence in the 2003 Senior Secondary School Examination results. In appreciation, Mr Kenneth Obempong, the District Chief Executive (DCE) presented cash 10 million cedis to the school. Out of the amount, the assembly paid five (5) million cedis while Mr Isaac Edumadze the Central Regional Minister donated five (5) million cedis from his share of the MPs Common Fund.

Making the presentation, Mr Obempong expressed gratitude to the students and tutors of the school for their achievement. Mr Obempong said this high academic achievement was really a clear indication of hard work and determination on the part of students and masters. He expressed the hope that the school would even do better in the year ahead. He asked students of the school to learn harder than before to break the record of their predecessors. Mr Obempong said the school had made the district proud and expressed the hope that other schools would emulate their shinning example.

Mr Archibold K. Fuah, Headmaster of the school thanked the assembly and the minister for the honour done the school and promised to do more to bring more laurels to the district. According to Mr Fuah, the success was chalked through the institution of compulsory evening classes for the students living at Mando. The school came first in the district, placed 10th in the region and 95th in the table of the senior secondary school certificate examination (SSSCE) for 2003
