District directorate of health honours health workers

Bibiani (W/R), Feb. 10, GNA - The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai district directorate of health in the Western region last Friday honoured six health workers for their immense contribution towards effective and efficient health delivery.

They were presented undisclosed amount of cash and certificates. The award winners were Mr Kwame Kwakye, who was adjudged the best district worker, Miss Florence Hammond, who received the best midwife award and Miss Gladys Maxwell, best community health nurse. The others were Mr Ernest Quartey, best utility worker, Asawanso clinic, best facility in the district and Bibiani hospital, best sub-district health centre.


Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Francis Takyi, the District Director of Health Services, commended the beneficiaries for the dedicated services they rendered to the people even under very difficult conditions.

He announced that the district had been adjudged the best in terms of extensive health coverage and quality of work in the Western region. Dr Takyi called on the workers to redouble their efforts at spreading the campaign message on HIV/AIDS to the people and appealed to the government to make available the drugs for the disease. Mr L.K. Bayuoh, the District Co-ordinating Director, congratulated the workers for their contribution towards health delivery in the district and urged them to keep up the momentum.
