Ofoase-Kokoben (Ash), Oct. 7, GNA - Pastor Anor Boahene, Director of Evangelism at the South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), has cautioned against blaming only women when couples do not have children.

He said research had shown that barrenness was attributable to many factors, some of which could be blamed on both men and women. Speaking at a six-day camp meeting of the Church at Ofoase-Kokoben in the Amansie East District, he called on couples with fertility problems to consult medical specialists and support it with prayers, which have the capability of breaking barriers.

Pastor Boahene said it was totally wrong for husbands and their relatives to harass, embarrass and maltreat wives for not being able to bear children and called for a halt to the practice, since it did not have any scientific basis.

He asked people to always wait for God's appointed time and should emulate Abraham and his wife in the Bible, who had a child from God when they had no hope of getting one.

Because they trusted God and had faith in him, he answered their prayers finally, he added.

Pastor Handson Rans Ankoma, Amansie-Anhwiankwanta District Pastor of the Church, called on Christians not to worry too much about food, accommodation and clothes but to seek God's blessing first.
