Afiaso (Ashanti), April 12, GNA - A chief has appealed to the leadership of Committee for Joint Action (CJA), organisers of the 'Wahala' demonstrations, to leave the rural communities alone in their nationwide demonstrations since they do not know the problems of the rural people.

Nana Afawuah Dum 11, Adansi Nyankomasehene, asked, "Has Kwesi Pratt ever visited us to know our sufferings?"

Speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of Afiaso in the Adansi South District during which a new six-unit classroom block was inaugurated, the chief said the "Wahala" demonstrations could not eliminate poverty in the rural communities.

Nana Dum, who is also an assembly member, said the CJA should rather see to the effective use of monies accruing from the petroleum products.

He said the rural communities are satisfied with the springing up of development projects under the Kufuor Administration. Nana Dum commended the Adansi South District Chief Executive for the number of projects that his tenure of office had brought to the area.

"We are convinced that because of your good works, the President would re-nominate you as the DCE for the District ", he said. The people called for the extension of the President's Special Initiative on palm oil to the Afiaso area.
