Dormaa Teachers launch three social enhancing products

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Dec. 07, GNA - Dormaa Teachers Cooperative Credit Union in Brong-Ahafo has launched three new products to enhance existing benefits to members. The products are the construction of a teachers' village at Dormaa Ahenkro which members can access on credit basis after making deposits of GHC50 each for six consecutive months. The Union has also gained approval from the Bank of Ghana to effect payment of teachers' salaries in the catchment area and has also concluded arrangements to establish an agency at Drobo in Jaman-South District in the region.

The products are the construction of a teachers' village at Dormaa Ahenkro which members can access on credit basis after making deposits of GHC50 each for six consecutive months. The Union has also gained approval from the Bank of Ghana to effect payment of teachers' salaries in the catchment area and has also concluded arrangements to establish an agency at Drobo in Jaman-South District in the region. Announcing the new products in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Dormaa Ahenkro, the Union's Manager, Mr. James Ameyaw Yeboah, said an amount of GHC100,000 had been set aside by the society to offer Christmas bonanza to members. He explained that the union had acquired 80 building plots from the Dormaa Traditional Council for the teachers' village project while similar arrangements were far advanced for members who wished to have their buildings constructed for them outside the union's catchment area. Mr Yeboah appealed to financial institutions in the area to grant clearance to teachers who might wish to draw their salaries through the union. 7 Dec.10
