Wamfie (B/A), May 21, GNA - Dormaa East Assembly is constructing new residential and administrative blocks at an estimated GHC 384,000 at Wamfie, the district capital, to enhance effective work. The new blocks would include accommodation for the District Chief Executive (DCE) and Coordinating Director. Mr. Vincent Kofi Kyeremeh, DCE, announced this at a durbar of chiefs and people at the end of a three-day familiarization tour of Dormaa Municipality and the district by Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Regional Minister. The DCE said the projects were being funded under the District Assembly Common Fund. He stated that the five-bedroom accommodation for the DCE would cost GHC164, 000 whilst that for the Coordinating Director and the Administration block would each cost GHC 110,000.

Mr Kyeremeh announced that under the GETFUND Emergency Project, the Assembly was constructing a six-unit block for Mansen Senior High School at the cost of GHC268, 507, a six-classroom block for Wamfie Catholic Primary school, with office and store, as well as provision of computer facilities at the cost of GHC138, 000. The Assembly is also constructing a GHC38, 000 12-seater water closet place of convenience at Wamfie health centre and a GHC140, 000 six-unit classroom block for Dormaa-Akwamu Roman Catholic JHS. Mr. Octavius Avornyoh, a representative of Accra-based PMC Construction firm, told the Ghana News Agency that the classroom project, which almost complete was expected to be handed over by the end of May this year.
