Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), Dec. 19, GNA - Members of the proposed Dormaa District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (DMHIS) would pay a premium of 30,000 cedis per contributor to the scheme.

The amount would cover admissions and emergency cases at hospitals. The decision was reached on Wednesday after lengthy discussions. Dr Christian Nyarko-Aduama, Dormaa District Director of Health Services, appealed to agents recruited to collect the premium to work hard to enable the scheme to take-off next year.

Mr Philip Akanzinge, Brong Ahafo Regional Co-ordinator of the Scheme, said Tano, Asutifi, Nkoranza, Berekum, Jaman North and South Districts have already started their schemes.

Mr Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive, described the fixing of the premium as a step forward and urged the people to pay up promptly.
