The climax of the 25th anniversary of the installation of Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, was held over the weekend, with the culture of the Aduana people on full display to the world.
Saturday, December 21, 2024, saw the beautiful celebration of the Kwafie Festival and a grand durbar to mark the 25th anniversary of the Dormaahene at Dormaa Ahenkro.
The event saw chiefs, queenmothers, and other traditional leaders of Dormaa, Sampa, Atebubu, Wenchi, Techiman and Nsoatre in attendance.
The vibrant culture and tradition, of the people of Aduana was showcased at the event which drew dignitaries and spectators from across and beyond Dormaa.
One of the eye-catching moments from the celebration was when the Dormaahene and the Dormaahemaa were paraded through the streets of Dormaa, with both the queen and king clothed in white apparel, through a sea of people all wearing black clothing, amid singing and dancing.
Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II could be seen wielding a gun, displaying his dancing skills and might.
On Sunday, December 22, 2024, there was a grand thanksgiving service, where the Dormaahene was captured dancing with his subjects to the glory of God.
Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Freduah Agyemang Badu II, a justice of the High Court in private life, ascended the Aduana throne on July 25, 1999, succeeding his late uncle, Nana Agyemang Badu I.
The Dormaahene, who is known for making his views known on issues of national importance, also serves as the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
