The Member of parliament for Effiduasi / Asokore constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye ended his eight days tour within 41 out of the 48 towns in the constituency, at the Effiduasi and Asokore markets where he engaged market women.
The delegation comprised of party constituency executives led by Chairman Osei Adiyiah, some polling station executives, some assembly members and party faithfuls. He took his time to explain the policies and initiatives of the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to the constituents and the need for them to exercise patience.
He explained that the two and half years of the governance has been a little bit difficult but things are gradually taking shape and hopes it gets better very soon.
Dr Afriye outlined some of the policies and initiatives that government has rolled out including Free SHS, planting for food and jobs, one District, one factory, one million dollars, one constituency, etc, and the unprecedented infrastructural developments going on within the constituency under his stewardship. He said that he will not relent on his efforts to lobby for the fair share of projects for the constituency.
Dr Afriye explained that his office is preparing for the commencement of next academic year, September, where he has been supporting the payment of school fees for students at the tertiary levels, not leaving out artisans and skills training for non-students especially the youth. Dr Afriye stated that he rides on the shoulders of the New Patriotic Party so are the constituency executives elected by the polling station executives.
The electorates within the toured towns could not hide their pleasure because the Member of parliament always visits them whenever parliament goes on recess, except when he is outside the country for parliamentary assignment, but they appealed to the MP not to forget their roads, water, KVIPS , school blocks, which are the major problems or challenges facing almost all the towns he toured.
He concluded by saying that it’s important for him to give accounts of two and half years of his stewardship to the people as a member of parliament, and has seen that it has been a fruitful exercise.
“I promise to visit the constituency anytime parliament goes on recess.” He said.
