Following the success of the first edition and in response to heightened calls for the economic empowerment of her constituents, Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah, the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for the Essikado Ketan constituency, has held the second edition of the soap-making training exercise for some residents in the constituency.

The two-day workshop, which took place from Thursday, July 18 to Friday, July 19, saw over 300 men and women in the constituency being empowered economically with skills in soap making.

The exercise, funded by Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah, saw participants drawn from communities such as Kojorom, Ketan, Nkroful, and Dianne, among others.

The training exercise focused on providing the residents with knowledge and skills that could transform their economic lives and improve their welfare.

Speaking to the beneficiaries at the graduation ceremony, Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah commended them for availing themselves of the opportunity.

She noted that economic liberation is consequential to the development of the constituency and that she will continue to initiate programs that will benefit them economically.

She urged them to put into action whatever they learned and ensure that they are able to impact others with the knowledge and experience garnered during the workshop.

Just as she did in the first edition, Dr. Ayensu provided seeds to the participants who came out on top in the assessment and assured them of further programs that will enable them to feed themselves regularly.

Certificates were also handed to the participants to authenticate their credentials as certified soap makers.

The participants were highly appreciative of the initiative by Prof. Dr. Ayensu and assured her of their commitment to put into practice what they learned.

They promised to undertake economic ventures that will uplift them and wished Dr. Ayensu success in the December 7 elections, as they believe she has demonstrated remarkable leadership and interest in their welfare.
