Koforidua, March 27, GNA - The Foundation of Friends of Duayaw Nkwanta of the Netherlands, an NGO, at the weekend presented six boxes of carpentry tools worth 2,000 euros to three junior secondary schools in Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo Region. The beneficiary schools were Koforidua JSS, Duayaw Nkwanta Roman catholic JSS and Susuanho Roman Catholic JSS.
The Foundation made the donation through the instrumentality of Mr Andrews Taah Yeboah, Assembly member for the area.
Presenting the items Mr Tom Schepens, Chairman of the Foundation, said whilst visiting his daughter who was working at a hospital at Duayaw Nkwanta he held discussions with the Assembly Member on what assistance he could offer to the Koforidua community. Mr Schepens, who has been installed as Nkosuohene of Koforidua under the stool name Nana Kwame Agyei Ababio, said he was also impressed by the neatness of the town as well as the friendliness of the people and decided to assist to enhance technical education in the area and to complete some development projects.
He said the NGO, formed in the Netherlands about four years ago, would continue to help construct bore holes as well as complete a teachers' quarters at Koforidua.
Receiving the items Mr Nicholas Lenin Anane-Adjei, the District Chief Executive, thanked the Dutch NGO for the donation and handed them over to the beneficiary schools.
