Dwenase (E/R), March 19, GNA - The people of Dwenase and Apinamang in the Kwaebibirem District are to enjoy potable water under the small-town water supply system and each citizen is being levied 15 Ghana cedis. The Chief of Dwenase, Barima Amuah Kukuo Ntriakuo, said at a meeting with his people at Dwenase that contributions were expected to total 20,000 Ghana cedis. He said those who could afford it, especially those in the cities and oversees, were expected to pay more so that the target could be attained without delay.
The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) is expected to pay 90 per cent of the total cost of the project with the Kwaebibirem District Assembly paying five percent and the people of Dwenase and Apinamang footing the remaining five percent. The chief said the European Union was expected to re-construct and tar the 26.5 kilometer Boadua-Dwenase, Akyem Takyiman road and work was expected to start soon.
He warned chainsaw operators to stay clear of the area since their activities would not be tolerated. He said he would make sure that anyone daring to flout the law was made to face the full rigours of the law. Barima Amuah Kukuo Ntriakuo inaugurated a six-seat place of convenience for the Local authority Junior High School.
