Accra, July 18, GNA – Mr Mahama Ayariga, Deputy Minister for Education, has said the private sector education has complemented government’s efforts in widening access to quality education.

Mr Ayariga said this at the fourth leaver’s service for the Dzokson Business College (DZOBUSCO), where 24 students passed out at the weekend in Accra.

The leaver’s service and Day was on the theme: “By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honour, and life- Proverbs 22:4.”

Mr Ayariga said this in a speech read on his behalf by Mr Joseph Essah, Assistant Director of Education at the Ministry of Education, adding that offering quality education was a laudable initiative which perfectly aligns with the mission of the Ministry of Education.

He said government would continue to create an enabling environment and offer support to move education in the country to its highest pedestal.

Mr Ayariga said the current student enrolment of the college was remarkable and very encouraging.

He commended parents for the resources they expended on the education of their wards and urged the graduates to strive in utilizing opportunities around them.

Mr Wisdom Dzokoto, Principal of the college, said the school had acquired 800 library books within the year for both students and staff adding that the books included fiction and text books.

He said the theme for the occasion was necessary because the school was established on the foundation of God.

Mrs Ernestina Affran-Annim, Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, said public sector education could not absorb all students in the country hence the need for the private sector to assist in government’s efforts.

Mrs Affran-Annim said she was overwhelmed on seeing the solid grounds on which the school was built and urged the graduates not to engage in vices that society abhors.

Dzokson Business College is a private Senior High School established in 2001 and offers courses such as General Arts, Home Economics, Business Accounting, Visual Arts and Secretarial courses.

Awards and Certificates were presented to deserving students.
