Bolgatanga, Oct. 18, GNA- The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Boniface Gambila, on Wednesday appealed to teachers who are on strike to consider the repercussion of their actions on school children. Speaking at the 30th anniversary celebration of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church at Bolgatanga, he said it was important for workers who embark on strike to remain at work while they negotiate. Mr Gambila appealed to churches, as major partners in development, to use their pulpit to preach spiritual messages that would transform humanity to enhance the nation's development.
The Regional Minister commended the EP Church for its immense contribution to the nation in the area of spirituality, education, health and agriculture.
Mr. Gambila cited the fee-free kindergarten education for children in the region, the construction of roads, provision of potable water and the provision of used clothing for needy men and children in the area as some of the charity works the EP Church had undertaken. In a sermon The Rt. Reverend Dr Livingston Buama, called on Christians to devote much of their time to worshiping God instead of looking for material things.
The Bolgatanga EP Church has built a block of three classrooms, an office and a store.
