Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, on Wednesday led a delegation to the residence of the late President John Evans Atta Mills to console the bereaved family.
The delegation, made up of Dr Hannah Louisa Bissiw and Nii Nortey Dua, both Deputy Ministers of Water Resources, Works and Housing, heads of departments and agencies under the ministry and some of their deputies signed the book of condolence.
Speaking to journalists, Dr Bissiw, who was in tears, described the late President Mills as a man who exhibited much confidence in the abilities of many Ghanaian youth and that his death was a huge loss particularly to the youth.
Dr Bissiw paid glowing tribute to the late President Mills saying he was a father, a mentor and led a life worthy of emulation.
Nii Nortey Dua called on Ghanaians to imitate his peaceful nature, adding that the legacy he left behind needed to be protected.
The Ministry donated 20 boxes of filtered water and 20 cartons of assorted soft drinks which were received by Mr. Mensah and some family members on behalf of Mrs Mills.
Former President Mills died suddenly on Tuesday July 24, at the 37 Military Hospital when seeking medical attention.**
