Forikrom (B/A) June 22, GNA - A 73-million cedis office complex for the Forikrom Eco-Tourism Centre, comprising three rooms, large hall, office, store, urinal and toilets, is under construction at the Botten Cave in the Techiman municipality.

Nana Kwaw Adams, Twafohene of Forikrom and executive director of Abrono Organic Farming Programme disclosed this after conducting the Ghana News Agency round the project to access the progress of work. Nana Adams said the Global Environmental Facility of United Nations Development Programme, was funding the project with 5,500 US dollars with the community contributing 2,500 US dollars. He said 15 million cedis had so far been spent on the project, which was expected to be completed by November this year

The chief said the people were also offering communal labour. Nana Adams disclosed that 10 youth in the community would be trained as tour-guides at the Centre and the office under construction. He advised the people to avoid activities that would have adverse effect on the environment, because that could stall the development of the Centre.
