Education Director expresses concern on school land encroachment

Tepa (Ash), Jan. 15, GNA - The Ahafo-Ano North District Director of Education, Mrs Naana Abudu, has expressed concerned about the encroachment of school lands in the district by some private developers in collaboration with some traditional rulers.

Naana Abudu expressed her concern last Thursday at Tepa during a quarterly meeting of public basic school heads.

She advised them and Circuit Supervisors to collaborate with School Management Committees to ensure the proper demarcation and documentation of school lands to check the development.

The Director stated that reports indicated that more than half of teachers in the District did not attend classes when the schools re-opened on Tuesday, January 9.

She noted that those who were in school, only few of them had prepared lesson notes and were found teaching, adding that, the situation was not acceptable and advised teachers to desist from the unprofessional attitude.
