Bolgatanga, Feb. 4, GNA - Mr Fabian Belieb, Acting Bolgatanga Municipal Director of Education has introduced a chart system of recording teacher delinquency as a mechanism to improve their commitment to duty in the area. Under the system, school heads in the area will be required to plot negative attitudes of each teacher on a chart of contact hours for assessment over a period.
Addressing a meeting of Heads of Basic Schools in Bolgatanga, Mr Belieb noted that teacher delinquency especially absenteeism, alcoholism, and non-commitment to duty were ruining quality education delivery in the area.
He suggested that subject specialisation should be encouraged for teachers to enable them give of their best. In addition, their should be a locally initiated common examination to be written by all pupils in the municipality to create competition. 04 Feb 09
