Twifo-Praso (C/R), June 5, GNA - Cases of various human rights abuses in the Twifo-Heman-Lower Denkyira district, have reduced from 74 between January and May 2004, to 52 within the same period this year. Mr Frimpong Appiah, the acting District Director of CHRAJ, told the Ghana News Agency at Twifo-Praso that the reduction was the result of intensified education by his office this year.

He said of the 52 cases so far handled this year, 17 were about child and spouse maintenance, 22 on domestic conflicts while the rest involved tenancy, inheritance and labour issues.

He however, expressed concern that the lack of a vehicle for the directorate was preventing it from reaching the remote areas, and appealed to the district assembly for assistance. 05 June 05
