Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency and Minority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, has commissioned the Dr Apetorgbor Dzodzegbe Health Centre in Ateitu-Winneba, Central Region.

The health centre is a fulfillment of Afenyo-Markin’s promise to the people of Ateitu, aiming to improve healthcare access and delivery in the constituency.

The facility is equipped with modern equipment, including a haematology analyser, Olympus, delivery beds, 50-litre oxygen cylinders, and a microscope.

Consultation rooms are well-furnished, and a pharmacy is available for quality healthcare delivery.

The centre also boasts a stable power supply, water, and is disability-friendly.

Afenyo-Markin named the centre after Dr Apetorgbor Dzodzegbe, recognising his contributions to healthcare in Winneba.

He urged public service workers and leaders to serve their communities, striving to transform Effutu and leave a lasting legacy.

Afenyo-Markin explained that Dr Apetorgbor Dzodzegbe’s selfless work, particularly in saving women’s lives, inspired him to name the health centre after the revered medical professional.

“Growing up in Winneba, every Winnebarian mentions Dr Apetorgbor Dzodzegbe’s name, showcasing his dedication to the constituency,” he said.

He urged public servants, leaders, and politicians to emulate Dr Dzodzegbe’s example, using their positions to serve their communities.

Afenyo-Markin reiterated his vision for Effutu’s transformation, hoping that future generations will remember his contributions.

“The facility is a disabled-friendly meaning it can accommodate both PWDs and Elderly people,” he added, emphasising the centre’s inclusivity.

With modern equipment and essential services, the Dr Apetorgbor Dzodzegbe Health Centre is poised to significantly improve healthcare delivery in Effutu.
