Eight fined for failure to renew TV license.

Sekondi, Sept 29, GNA- A Sekondi Magistrate's Court on Monday fined eight defaulters of the Television Licence Fee 300,000 cedis each or serve three months imprisonment in hard labour. They are Osei Kwame, Philip Mensah, Yaw Mensah, Jacob Johnson Mitchial, Alex Bossman Mensah, Ebenezer Gyampoh, Kingsford Cudjoe and Kwame Tuoidl.

They all pleaded guilty to failing to renew their television licence.

The court issued a bench warrant for the arrest of two other persons, Emmanuel Dadzie and John Tweneboah, who were charged with the same offence but failed to appear before the court. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Ben Wonkyi said a team from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation who were inspecting television licence at Kojokrom, Adiembra and Effia at the weekend arrested the accused persons.
