This year’s Enactus National Competition will be held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Wednesday, July 22.

Mr Baba Sayuti, Country Leader of Enactus Ghana, who disclosed this in Accra on Monday, said about 1,000 students drawn from various Universities around the globe, would be taking part in the two-day competition.

Mr Sayuti said the competition which was expected to be educative and exciting, was being sponsored by Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, Ecobank Ghana, Enterprise Group, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), the Chinese Government, Hershey Limited, KPMG and some alumni of Enactus.

The Country Leader said the winner of the competition would represent Ghana at the Enactus World Cup to be staged in a country which would be announced later.

Enactus is an International non-profitmaking organization that brings together a diverse network of students, academic and business leaders who share the vision of creating a better and more sustainable world through the positive power of business.

It is also committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and standards of living for people in need.

The organization which was formally called Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), is represented in 36 countries and was established in the USA in the year 1975 and was introduced in Ghana in the year 2,000.

The competition gives the students a platform to showcase the projects that they have embarked on over a period of time to a panel of judges made up of Chief Executives, Managers and Entrepreneurs.

Ford in partnership with Enactus Ghana, will launch the Ford C3 Partnership project at the event.

Government Officials, Managers of companies, heads of tertiary institutions as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps will grace the occasion.

The University of Ghana, Legon, will be defending the trophy they won last year.
