Kumasi, March 25, GNA - Entrepreneurs have been advised against concentrating solely on the drawing of business plans without instituting measures to ensure their implementation.

"A business plan is not good enough until the entrepreneur shows commitment to execute what is in the plan," said Miss Hamdiya Ismaila, a Deputy Head of the Business Development Services Unit of the Ministry of Private Sector Development and President's Special Initiative. She made these remarks at the closing of a 10-day training programme on bankable business planning and corporate governance in Kumasi on Friday.

The training was organised by the Youth in Export Association for 48 of its members drawn from all parts of the country. The Association consists of young aspiring exporters of various non-traditional commodities.

Mr. Kwaku Kyei, Secretary General of the Association, said there were plans by the association to establish a 700 million-cedi resource centre this year.

He said the centre is expected to facilitate members' access to latest technical information on the global market. It will also report on market surveys.

In an address read for her, Madam Patricia Appiagye, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, entreated the young exporters to take advantage of government policies and learn from the experience of prominent exporters.
