Essaso Amanfrom (E/R), Dec 16, GNA - Nana Obutu Frempong11, chief of Essaso Amanfrom in the West Akim District, has appealed to the district assembly and the Ghana Education Service (GES) to assign more trained teachers to the two schools in the community.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Assaso Amanfrom near Abankrom, Nana Obutu regretted that the assembly and GES had neglected the community in the equitable posting of trained teachers and as well as social amenities.

Nana Obutu was not happy with the poor quality of teaching in the two schools, a junior high school and a basic school, and attributed the problem to non acceptance of qualified teachers to accept postings to the area, due to the poor living conditions.

Expressing concern about the lack of adequate social facilities to help enhance the people's standard of living, the chief listed priority projects envisaged to benefit the area as a health post, electrification, good road network and educational infrastructure.

According to the chief, the junior high and basic schools are over-populated, because they serve children from the surrounding villages= of Kumikrom, Abamkrom, Budu, Amanfrom and Boyabo.

Other concerns, Nana Obutu raised were the lack of a proper health c= are facility in the community and that the only one in the area was located at Abamkrom, compelling patients to walk several kilometres before receiving=

treatment.
