Ho, Jan. 13, GNA – Newly crowned best Ewe Gospel Musician in the Volta region, David Mawutor, popularly known as Xadzixevi, has congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills for refusing to yield to pressure to legalize homosexuality in the country.
“You refused to expose your children to same calamities of Sodom and Gomorra of old, I congratulate you,” he said.
These comments were contained in a congratulatory message presented by Mr Mawutor to the President through the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) after a two-hour brass band procession through some principal streets of Ho.
The procession, which had support from the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and Volta Music and Entertainment Industry Board, was geared at taking the campaign against homosexuality in the country to the doorstep of the individual.
The campaign is part of the activities the Gospel King has embarked upon to help transform society.
He said homosexuality was an abomination and a shameful act and was optimistic that the President’s stand not to legalize homosexuality would ensure stability and progress for the nation.
Mr Cosmos Adza-Kodzo, Vice President of MUSIGA in the Volta Region, said homosexuality is alien to Ghanaians and urged parents to advise their children against it.
Reverend Francis Moore Nuworku of the Calvary Charismatic Centre said homosexuality is “punishable by God and leads a soul to hell fire.”
Mr Kwamena Mafi Akwa, Chief Director at the VRCC received the message on behalf of the Regional Minister and gave the assurance that it shall reach the President.
