Awutu-Bawjiase (C/R), April 18, GNA - Lieutenant Daniel William Osardu, a former District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya, has advocated an emergency national conference of major stakeholders to plan strategies to address the issue of "indecent dressing that has engulfed the nation's youth".

He said the issue bothered on national identity and traditional and cultural values, stressing that a firm and workable decision needed to be taken "before the situation gets out of hand".

Lt. Osardu was addressing members of the Awutu-Bawjiase branch of the Church of the Lord, Ghana, to round off their Easter activities. He said the issue of indecent dressing had not only permeated various Ghanaian communities, but had also gained full control over social life in the country's tertiary and other institutions of higher learning.

Prophet Samuel K Nkoom, Bawjiase area leader of the Church, reminded the youth that the future of the nation rested on their shoulders and advised them to cultivate the right behaviours and attitudes that would help them to cope with future challenges. He counselled the youth against promiscuous lives and other forms of indiscipline, saying such acts could jeopardize their future prospects and affect the nation's socio-economic and cultural development.
